The Moto Guzzi 850T5 was a Air cooled, four stroke, transverse V-twin cylinder, OHC, 2 valves per cylinder Sport touring motorcycle produced by Moto Guzzi in 1983. Max torque was 53.84 ft/lbs (73.0 Nm) @ 5800 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 4.96 HP (3.7 KW) @ 7000 RPM.
Engine[edit | edit source]
A 82.8mm bore x 82.8mm stroke result in a displacement of just 844.0 cubic centimeters.
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 5-Speed transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet multi-plate.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 110/90 V16 front tire and a 120/90 V18 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Double discs 230 mm 1 piston calipers in the front and a Single disc 242 mm 1 piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a Paioli telescopic air assisted while the rear was equipped with a Dual Koni adjustable for preload.
1983 - 1987 Moto Guzzi 850T5[edit | edit source]
The 850T5 is the one we put to a full test, but a few days with a Le Mans (see sidebar) also proved something of a revelation, and is in some respects an even more radically transformed machine than Mandello's smaller and rather genteel roadster.
