The Vespa ELESTART was a Two stroke, single cylinder scooter produced by Vespa in 1969. Claimed horsepower was 2.55 HP (1.9 KW) @ 4500 RPM.

Engine

A 38.1mm bore x 38.1mm stroke result in a displacement of just 49.8 cubic centimeters.

Drive

The bike has a 3-Speed mesh gears transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet Multi-plate.

Chassis

It came with a 2.75 x 9" front tire and a 2.75 x 9" rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Drum in the front and a Drum in the rear. The front suspension was a Hydraulic shock absorber with rubber elements while the rear was equipped with a Hydraulic shock absorber.

The Vespa 50 Elestart Series I was launched with an electric start and was targeted at women. The batteries were housed in the left side of the engine and the spare tire, if required, was placed behind the leg shield. The gearbox was the three-speed unit.
