The FJ 600 promises true sporting performance. Though a few engine parts were borrowed from previous machines, the FJ 600 is essentially all new and aimed squarely at sports riders. Power is transmitted to the chain-driven rear wheel through a six-speed gear box. A frame-mounted fairing, triple discs, DeCarbon type single-shock rear suspension system and long-travel front suspension with integrated fork brace adorn the short (56.1-inch wheelbase), low-slung chassis.

The Yamaha FJ 600 was a Four stroke, transverse four cylinder. DOHC, 2 valves per cylinder. Sport Bike motorcycle produced by Yamaha between 1984 and 1985. It could reach a top speed of 125 mph (201 km/h). Max torque was 39.83 ft/lbs (54.0 Nm) @ 8000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 72.01 HP (53.7 KW) @ 10000 RPM.

Engine[edit | edit source]

The engine was a oil & air cooled Four stroke, transverse four cylinder. DOHC, 2 valves per cylinder.. A 58.4mm bore x 58.4mm stroke result in a displacement of just 598.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a 6-Speed transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet, multiplate.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 110/90 V18 front tire and a 140/90 V18 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Double discs 267 mm in the front and a Single disc 267 mm in the rear. The front suspension was a Telescopic forks while the rear was equipped with a Monocross rising rate with 5-way preload. The FJ 600 was fitted with a 5.68 Gallon (21.50 Liters) fuel tank. The wheelbase was 56.1 inches (1425 mm) long.
