The Yamaha FZ1 is a street motorcycle manufactured by the Yamaha Motor Company Ltd. of Japan. The 2006 model has a 998 cc DOHC 20-valve R1 engine, which produces 150 horsepower at 11,000 rpm, set in an all-new compact aluminum frame.
It is known as the FZS1000 in Europe. Model years 2001-2005 were virtually unchanged except for color offerings. 2006 saw a major redesign with a smaller gas tank, redesigned sportier ergonomics, and improved handling.
Yamaha also produces a smaller, similiar 600cc version of this motorcycle called the FZ6.
