The Yamaha GX 400 was a Four stroke, parallel twin, air cooled Classic motorcycle produced by Yamaha in 1978. Max torque was 24.34 ft/lbs (33.0 Nm) @ 8000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 37.01 HP (27.6 KW) @ 8800 RPM.
Engine
A 68.6mm bore x 68.6mm stroke result in a displacement of just 391.0 cubic centimeters.
Drive
The bike has a 6-Speed transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet multi-discs.
Chassis
It came with a 3.00-18 front tire and a 3.50-18 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Single disc in the front and a Single disc in the rear. The front suspension was a Telescopic forks while the rear was equipped with a Dual shocks.
1978 Yamaha GX 400
It had a small body same as GX250, which was its series model. Its square body was inherited from the RD series, the 2-stroke road bike.
