The Yamaha IT was a Air Cooled, Two Stroke, Single Cylinder Trial motorcycle produced by Yamaha between 1979 and 1984. It could reach a top speed of 85 mph (136 km/h). Max torque was 18.44 ft/lbs (25.0 Nm) @ 7500 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 26.55 HP (19.8 KW) @ 9500 RPM.
Engine[edit | edit source]
The engine was a air cooled Air Cooled, Two Stroke, Single Cylinder. A 65.8mm bore x 65.8mm stroke result in a displacement of just 195.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a port control.
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 6 Speed transmission. Power was moderated via the wet multiple disc.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 90/90 -21 front tire and a 120/90 -18 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Drum in the front and a Drum in the rear. The front suspension was a 43mm Kayaba Forks while the rear was equipped with a Monoshock. The IT was fitted with a 3.17 Gallon (12.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 250.0 pounds (113.4 Kg). The wheelbase was 55.91 inches (1420 mm) long.
1984 - 1990 Yamaha IT[edit | edit source]
In the '70s, Yamaha was manufacturing some distinct off road motorcycles, the first being the IT400, born in 1976. One year later the family grew up and included the 175 and 250 models, then the 125, 200, 425 and 465 appeared.
