The Yamaha TRX850 was a twin, four-stroke Sport Bike motorcycle produced by Yamaha between 1996 and 1999. It could reach a top speed of 135 mph (218 km/h). Max torque was 64.17 ft/lbs (87.0 Nm) @ 6000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 81.27 HP (60.6 KW) @ 7500 RPM.
Engine[edit | edit source]
The engine was a liquid cooled twin, four-stroke. A 89.5mm bore x 67.5mm stroke result in a displacement of just 849.0 cubic centimeters. The Engine was very similar to that used in the Yamaha TDM850.
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 5-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet multi-plate.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120/60-zr17 front tire and a 160/60-zr17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual disc in the front and a single disc in the rear. The front suspension was a Telescopic Fork Coil 38 mm while the rear was equipped with a Swingarm Coil Spring. The TRX850 was fitted with a 4.76 Gallon (18.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 414.47 pounds (188.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 56.5 inches (1435 mm) long.
1996 - 1999 Yamaha TRX 850[edit | edit source]
The TRX 850 was first released in Japan in 1995, and in Europe in 1996. Yamaha's TRX shares its engine and 5-speed gearbox with the 1996 TDM850.
