The Yamaha XTZ750 Super Tenere was a twin, four-stroke Enduro motorcycle produced by Yamaha between 1989 and 1994. It could reach a top speed of 106 mph (170 km/h). Max torque was 50.16 ft/lbs (68.0 Nm) @ 675 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 68.53 HP (51.1 KW) @ 7500 RPM.

Engine[edit | edit source]

The engine was a liquid cooled twin, four-stroke. A 87.0mm bore x 63.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 749.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a 5-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet multi-plate.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 90/90-21 front tire and a 140/80-17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via double disc in the front and a single disc in the rear. The front suspension was a Telescopic fork while the rear was equipped with a Monoshock. The XTZ750 Super Tenere was fitted with a 6.6 Gallon (25.00 Liters) fuel tank. The wheelbase was 59.29 inches (1506 mm) long.

The Yamaha XTZ 750 is a bike inspired by gruelling events like the Paris Dakar. Powered by a five valve, liquid-cooled 750 cc, twin cylinder engine, housed in a super strong and lightweight steel chassis. In 1989 Yamaha present the Super Ténéré. The new developed two-cylinder twin engine has five valves and downdraft carburettors. The Model set new maximum performance values in the Enduro scene. It's not as light as a single cylinder bike and so not to use for everything. But if one gets used to the weight you can use it quite well off road. The Super Ténéré is a solid motorcycle for travelling long distances with much comfort.
