The Yamaha XV1000 Virago was a V-Twin, four-stroke cruiser motorcycle produced by Yamaha between 1983 and 1985. It could reach a top speed of 112 mph (180 km/h). Claimed horsepower was 63.56 HP (47.4 KW) @ 6500 RPM.
Engine
The engine was a air cooled v2, four-stroke. A 95.0mm bore x 69.2mm stroke result in a displacement of just 981.0 cubic centimeters. Chain driven single camshaft with rockers, 2 valves per clinder.
Drive
The bike has a 5-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the life on a plate.
Chassis
It came with a 100/90-19 front tire and a 140/90-15 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual disc in the front and a expanding brake (drum brake). 0in the rear. The front suspension is a traditional telescoping fork (with air assist) while the rear was equipped with a dual shocks. The XV1000 Virago was fitted with a 3.8 US gallon (14.50 liter) fuel tank.
