History
The Virago XV 1100 is a huge cruiser with 1063 cc engine displacement, whose roots can be traced back in 1982, when the first Virago member, XV 750, was born. One year later, the Virago 920 appeared but after two years the machine increased its engine up to 1000 cc with the Virago 1000. In 1986 the same engine grew up again and the XV 1100 was born.
Engine
The engine was a air cooled v2, four-stroke. A 95.0mm bore x 75.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 1063.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a overhead cams (ohc).
Drive
The bike has a 5-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet multi-plate.
Chassis
It came with a 100/90-19 front tire and a 140/90-15 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual disc in the front and a expanding brake in the rear. The front suspension was a Telescopic Fork while the rear was equipped with a Dual Shocks, 5-way Preload Adjustment. The XV1100 Virago was fitted with a 4.49 Gallon (17.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 487.22 pounds (221.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 60.04 inches (1525 mm) long.
