The Yamaha YZF-R6 WorldGP 50th Anniversary Edition was a liquid-cooled inline 4-cylinder; DOHC, 16 titanium valves Sport Bike motorcycle produced by Yamaha in 2012. Max torque was 47.94 ft/lbs (65.0 Nm) @ 11500 RPM.

Engine

A 66.0mm bore x 66.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 599.0 cubic centimeters.

Drive

The bike has a 6 Speed, manual transmission. Power was moderated via the Multiplate slipper clutch.

Chassis

It came with a 120/70-ZR17 front tire and a 180/55-ZR17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Dual 310mm floating disc; radial-mount 4-piston calipers in the front and a 220mm disc; single-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a 41mm inverted fork; 4-way adjustable, 4.5-in travel while the rear was equipped with a Single shock; 4-way adjustable, 4.7-in travel. The wheelbase was 54.09 inches (1374 mm) long.

The R6 is a Supersport-class machine, but why couldn't it receive a MotoGP livery? 50 years from Yamaha's first GP race, the most iconic bikes are dressed in a limited edition black-white-red color scheme which sets them apart and is a wonderful testimony of the House Iwata's racing heritage.

The frame of the 2012 MY R6 is optimized for better rigidity and on-track performance, while all the tech upgrades in the base model can also be found in the YZF-R6 WorldGP 50th Anniversary Edition. Only 1500 such bikes are available, each numbered.
