The engine featured a 13,0:1 compression ratio.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 120/70-ZR 17 front tire and a 180/55-ZR 17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via 2x 320mm discs 4 piston calipers in the front and a Single 265mm disc in the rear. The front suspension was a BMW Motorrad Duolever; central spring strut, rebound damping electronically adjustable with optional ESA while the rear was equipped with a Die-cast aluminum single-sided swinging arm with BMW Motorrad Paralever; central spring strut with lever system, spring pre-load adjustable to continuously variable levels by means of hydraulic handwheel (electronically adjustable with optional ESA), adjustable rebound damping (rebound damping and compression electronically adjustable with optional ESA). The K1200R was fitted with a 19 Liters fuel tank.
