The Can-Am/ Brp Commander 800R was a liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, Rotax V-twin ATV produced by Can-Am/ Brp between 2011 and 2015.

Engine[edit | edit source]

A 91.4mm bore x 91.4mm stroke result in a displacement of just 799.0 cubic centimeters.

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a CVT, L / H / N / R / P transmission. Power was moderated via the Automatic CVT.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a Carlisle Black Rock 27 x 9 x 12 in front tire and a Carlisle Black Rock 27 x 11 x 12 in rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual 214 mm ventilated disc brakes with hydraulic twin-piston calipers in the front and a single 214 mm ventilated disc brake with hydraulic twin-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a double A-arm while the rear was equipped with a Torsional Trailing arm Independent (TTI). The Commander 800R was fitted with a 2.64 Gallon (10.00 Liters) fuel tank. The wheelbase was 75.79 inches (1925 mm) long.

The 2010 Can-Am Commander 800R XT is the higher-specced version of the basic Commander, now sporting some very nifty additions designed to improve off-road performance: a powerful winch, larger, 14” cast aluminum wheels shod with 27-inch Maxxis tires, a front bumper and mudguards, and a comprehensive hybrid gauge.

With a quick-ratio steering system and selectable 2/4WD dual-range automatic transmission, the 2010 Can-Am Commander 800R XT can handle pretty much all the rough terrain you'll be riding on. The front differential sports an auto-locking feature to make passing over obstacles easier and safer. This SxS also fits in the loading bed of most full-sized pickups, so getting it to where the asphalt ends is easy, too.

The 2015 MY Can-Am Commander 800R sports a 71 horsepower, liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 799cc, Rotax V-twin powerhouse mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT), that features a selectable 2WD / 4WD drive train with Visco-Lok auto-locking front differential. In addition, it has a state-of-the-art Intelligent Throttle Control (iTC), which offers an even smoother power delivery, with two selectable riding modes, progressive or sport.

Also, it boasts improved performance and a higher level of comfort, thanks to the high-end suspension system, composed of a double A-arm front unit and a Torsional Trailing arm Independent rear suspension (TTI), as well as ventilated front and rear hydraulic brakes.
