The Can-Am/ Brp DS 450 X MX was a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC 4-valve head with high-flow “Durchzugskraft” design, 38mm intake valve, 31 mm Nimonic – alloy ATV produced by Can-Am/ Brp between 2010 and 2011.

A 96.5mm bore x 96.5mm stroke result in a displacement of just 449.3 cubic centimeters.

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a 5-speed manual transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet, multiplate.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 20 x 6R-10 front tire and a 18 x 10R-8 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Dual 182 mm discs with inverted twin-piston calipers in the front and a 198 mm rotor with single piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a R-Type forged aluminum Double A-arm KYB8 HPG piggyback shocks with compression, rebound and preload adjustments while the rear was equipped with a R-Type cast aluminum swingarm Chromoly hollow rear axle KYB8 HPG piggyback shock with compression, rebound and preload adjustments. The wheelbase was 50.0 inches (1270 mm) long.

The 2009 Can-Am DS 450 X MX is a motocross ATV derived from the base DS 450 EFI. It sports high-tech parts complying with the rigors of racing conditions, being capable of delivering both high performance while being also rider-friendly and making no compromises as far as look is concerned.

The brawny 449cc engine is coupled to a sport-specced 5-speed manual gearbox with a heavy-duty clutch, designed to offer the best power delivery in all circumstances. The frame sits on adjustable KYB HPG piggyback shocks and polished aluminum wheels, all ready for hard riding on the dirt track. Add in the aluminum bumper with number plate, nerf bars and the aluminum race-type handlebars and be ready to ride as hard as you can.

The 2010 Can-Am DS 450 X MX is the upgraded version of the original DS 450, better fit for extreme riding on variable terrain. Created for motocross racing, this quad comes with an advanced no-weld aluminum frame, hollow rear axle and inverted brake calipers, keeping weight to a minimum while not making compromises in terms of technical matters. Sturdy and nimble, the 2010 Can-Am DS 450 X MX can handle really rough surfaces and hard landings, providing excellent balance and thrust.
