The bike has a 2w/4w shaft driven with Visco-Lok front differential transmission. Power was moderated via the Automatic CVT.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 25x8x12 front tire and a 25x10x12 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Dual 214 mm ventilated disc brakes with hydraulic twin-piston calipers in the front and a Single 214 mm ventilated disc brake with hydraulic twin-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a Double A-Arm while the rear was equipped with a Torsional Trailing arm Independent. The wheelbase was 50.98 inches (1295 mm) long.

The 2012 Can-Am Renegade 1000 X xc is an upgraded version of the basic liter-class Renegade. A multi-function digital gauge offers comprehensive riding data at a glance, while the underseat battery and electronic components offer easy access and maintenance.
Equally suitable for paved and unpaved roads, the 2012 Can-Am Renegade 1000 X xc will surprise you with its capabilities for rough, off-the-road hard riding. Loaded with adjustable, racing-specced FOX shocks, the 2012 Can-Am Renegade 1000 X xc can handle pretty much any kind of abuse. Of course, you also get the standard selectable 2/4WD, high/low ratio and auto-locking front differential, all coupled to an automatic transmission.
