The engine was a Air cooled cooled Four stroke, 90° L twin cylinder, SOHC, desmodromic 2 valves per cylinder. The engine featured a 11.0:1 compression ratio.
Drive[edit | edit source]
Power was moderated via the APTC wet multiplate with hydraulic control.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120/70 ZR17 Pirelli Diablo Rosso II front tire and a 180/55 -ZR17 Pirelli Diablo Rosso II, rear tire. Stopping was achieved via 2 x 320mm semi-floating discs radially mounted , 4 piston calipers, , Bosch ABS as standard equipment in the front and a Single 245 mm disc, 2 piston caliper, Bosch ABS as standard equipment in the rear. The front suspension was a 43mm Kayaba usd fork while the rear was equipped with a Sachs monoshock, Pre-load and rebound adjustable. The Monster 797+ was fitted with a 16.5 Liters / 4.3 US gal fuel tank. The bike weighed just 175 kg / 386 lbs. The wheelbase was 1435 mm / 56.5 in long.
