The engine was a Air cooled cooled Four stroke, 90° “L” twin cylinder, DOHC, desmodromic 4 valves per cylinder, belt driven. The engine featured a 10.5:1 compression ratio.

Drive[edit | edit source]

Power was moderated via the Dry mulitplate.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 120/70-17 front tire and a 190/50-17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via 2 x 320 mm Discs, 4 piston calipers in the front and a Single 245 mm disc, 2 piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a Öhlins 43 mm upside-down fully adjustable fork with TiN surface treatment while the rear was equipped with a Progressive linkage with fully adjustable Öhlins monoshock; hydraulic remote preload control. Single-sided aluminum swingarm. The Multistrada 1000S DS was fitted with a 20 L / 5.3 US gal / 4.4 Imp gal fuel tank. The bike weighed just 188 kg / 414 lbs. The wheelbase was 1462 mm / 57.6 in long.
