Overview[edit | edit source]

Ducati Streetfighter 848 AMG Special Edition

The partnership between Ducati and Mercedes-AMG has produced some new fruit, this time a Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG inspired by the Ducati Streetfighter 848′s “Fighter Yellow” color.

The cooperation agreement between Mercedes-AMG and Ducati, which was signed at the Los Angeles Motor Show in November 2010, includes various marketing activities and joint appearances at shows and customer events. The first result of the exchange of ideas between designers and engineers from Affalterbach and Bologna was the joint presentation of the Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG and the Ducati Diavel AMG Special Edition, at the 64th International Motor Show in Frankfurt earlier this year.

AMG has been the Official Car Partner of the Ducati MotoGP team this year and AMG logo appears not only on the motorcycles and racing overalls of Ducati riders Nicky Hayden and Valentino Rossi, but also on the official teamwear and in the Ducati Lounge.

Inside the SLK 55 AMG, the convertible is awash in black nappa leather with yellow stitching while the yellow motif is also repeated on door center panels, beltlines, armrests, roll-over bars, dashboard, shift lever gaiter and steering wheel. The door sill panels are also illuminated with yellow LED lighting. At the moment, the Streetfighter Yellow SLK 55 AMG is a one-off model but AMG hasn’t ruled out offering it as an option if there is strong enough demand.
