Overview[edit | edit source]

Honda CB1000R 50th Anniversary Tribute

2019 marks the 50th anniversary of the introduction of the world’s first ‘superbike’.  In 1969, Honda introduced  its first four-cylinder motorcycle - one of the industry’s biggest game changers - the Honda CB750 Four.

In collaboration with Honda’s Italian-based R&D department they will unveil the special edition of its current CB1000R Tribute one-off motorcycle at the 2019 Roma Motodays in Rome.

Only a single unit of the CB1000R Tribute will be built.

The changes are mainly aesthetic which include the addition of tubeless JoNich wire spoke wheels, a dual exhaust system from SC-Project which mimics the original CB750’s design, an Alcantara leather saddle and Rizoma bar ends, mirrors and indicators. The CB1000R receives the original blue and gold livery of the 1969 CB750 including its color-matched headlight surround and a vintage-style Honda wing badge on the side panel.

Apart from the cosmetic tweaks, the motorcycle remains the same. The 2019 Honda CB1000R is powered by a 999cc, liquid-cooled, four-cylinder engine which belts out 141.4bhp and 104Nm. It is loaded with electronic aids such as full-color TFT display, ride-by-wire, traction control and four riding modes. Suspension duties are handled by fully-adjustable inverted front forks and rear monoshock, sourced from Showa. For braking, it gets 310mm twin disc setup up front and 256mm disc at the rear.
