Overview[edit | edit source]

Husqvarna Vitpilen 401

The Husqvarna VITPILEN 401 marks the start of an entirely new segment in the motorcycling world, it is free of excess and reduced to its simplest form. This bike aims to appeal to an entirely new generation of motorcycle users. It’s for those less interested in the hype and hyperbole of modern day motorcycling and who prefer a simpler, more style-orientated approach. Its technologically advanced 4-stroke single-cylinder 375 cc engine is housed in an incredibly stripped down yet progressive layout that offers excellent performance without boasting about how racy it is. The basic idea and inspiration behind the bike was to create something completely reduced, while turning heads from an aesthetic point of view. Ultimately, it’s as accessible as a motorcycle can be, it’s honest and can be ridden by anyone with the will to learn. In terms of style and design, the VITPILEN 401 is reduced to nothing more than what is absolutely essential. With respect to the past, it is simple, obvious and forward-thinking in terms of the technology used, as well as the entire package itself. The way in which the volume was sculpted is extremely sleek and pure, forming clean and soft lines. By contrast, the shape itself is very intentional and well-defined. It is most certainly very approachable and accessible. Dynamic thanks to a more engaging position, which is far forward enough to be in full control, yet remains relaxed thanks to its clip-on handlebars and natural ergonomics. The surface treatment (the way in which the bike was sculpted) is distinctive in that there’s a contrast between the softness of the design and the extremely defined shapes on the tank. This forms very precise elements and fitting lines of the surface. Underneath, it is fully-equipped with premium components including LED front and rear lights, WP suspension and a modern fuel-injected motor, amongst other features. The bike was designed to be as simple to ride as possible, without all the unnecessary electronics and rider assistance. It is designed for a ‘sit down and enjoy the ride’ experience.

EXTERIOR The design idea for the SVARTPILEN 401 is to strip away all unnecessary gimmicks and to create a simple, progressive mix of classic thinking and modern design. This way of thinking is synonymous with the Swedish heritage of Husqvarna Motorcycles and can be clearly seen on the SVARTPILEN 401. The lightweight and narrow bodywork is shaped into the SVARTPILEN 401’s design and intelligently allows for seamless movement while riding. Its black color, rugged tires and protective parts give the motorcycle a rigorous look to match its urban exploration intentions. WHEELS A design highlight of the SVARTPILEN 401 are the 17” spoked wheels. Central to the character of the SVARTPILEN 401, the wheels offer a unique sense of rugged style and are very robust, offering premium reliability on challenging urban terrain. CONTROL ZONE & TRIPLE CLAMP Offroad style handlebars and risers attach to stylishly forged aluminum triple clamps, central to the control zone of the SVARTPILEN 401. In keeping with the minimalistic look of the SIMPLE.PROGRESSIVE. design, the control zone is not obstructed by any fairings and simply features a digital display unit with the necessary information.

LIGHTS The front and rear lights on the SVARTPILEN 401 form part of the unique design that defines this motorcycle. Using the latest LED technology, the lights are more than just designer pieces and contribute significantly to visibility and safety. SEAT The seat of the SVARTPILEN 401 uses high-quality foam and leather fabric, which, despite its reduced appearance, remains comfortable for the rider. Extending from the main bodywork and seamlessly floating above the rear wheel, the seat adds to the timeless design and unique riding experience the SVARTPILEN 401 provides. TANK & FILLER CAP The aluminum filler cap proudly displays the Husqvarna Motorcycles logo, like a stamp of premium quality, standing humble but bold on the fuel tank. The tank of the SVARTPILEN 401 features a standard luggage rack which allows for the mounting of light luggage for added rider convenience and contributes to the rugged look of the urban explorer. REKLUSE RADIUS X-CENTRIFUGAL FORCE CLUTCH KIT Featuring Rekluse’s latest EXP and TorqDrive® technologies, the automatic clutch will diminish the risk of stalling the engine in situations such as hard braking, starting and stopping. Installed into the standard clutch following a simple process of adjustment, it will improve traction and provide a more relaxed and controlled riding experience while remaining fatigue-free for longer-distance rides.

Take off and stop in gear without using clutch lever No stalling of the engine in hard braking, starting, stopping No need to constantly use the clutch lever in stop-and-go traffic Smooth engagement and improved traction More relaxed, fatigue-free and controlled riding, even over longer distances Unrestricted and total concentration on the perfect line Longer clutch life due to lower operating temperatures Manual action of clutch lever is still available AKRAPOVIC “SLIP-ON LINE” Manufactured by industry specialist Akrapovič, the SLIP-ON exhaust system will enhance your machine’s style, sound and performance. Light yet robust, it has an easy Plug & Play assembly without the need to install a new engine mapping.
