The Kawasaki KFX400 was a liquid cooled, single cylinder DOHC 4-stroke ATV produced by Kawasaki between 2004 and 2006.

A 88.9mm bore x 88.9mm stroke result in a displacement of just 398.0 cubic centimeters.

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a 5-speed with reverse transmission.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a AT22 x 7R10 tubeless front tire and a AT20 x 10R9 tubeless rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Dual hydraulic discs with single piston calipers in the front and a Single hydraulic disc with single piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a Double A-arm with dual shocks while the rear was equipped with a Link type with single shock absorber.

Building on the solid basis of the 2003 model, the 2004 Kawasaki KFX400 shows massive fun potential for the discerning motocross ATV rider. The powerful 398cc engine provides dependable torque for getting past obstacles in the way when riding for pleasure and guarantees fast accelerations in any segment of a serious race.


With adjustable suspensions and powerful disc brakes, the 2004 Kawasaki KFX400 can be ridden hard on any terrain and will still provide great traction and excellent shock damping to keep you on track. Thanks to updated chassis, the KFX400 weighs in at only 169 kg (373 lbs) and is easy to handle, offering both precise steering and firm response.

Also suitable for riding with a lighter hand, the 2004 Kawasaki KFX400 can be taken on casual weekend cruises in the wilderness. The large and powerful headlight offers great visibility at night: the 2004 KFX400 however is not a street-legal machine.
