The engine was a Liquid cooled cooled Four stroke, single cylinder, DOHC, 4 valves per cylinder. The engine featured a 9.8:1 compression ratio.
Drive[edit | edit source]
Power was moderated via the Wet multi-disc, cable operation.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 90/90 -21 front tire and a 130/80 -17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Single 280mm disc 2 piston caliper in the front and a Single 203mm disc 1 piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a 41mm Air-adjustable forks, while the rear was equipped with a UNI-TRAK® linkage, 5-way preload shock absorber with 4way rebound damping.. The KLR650 New Edition was fitted with a 23 Liters / 5.8 US gal. fuel tank. The wheelbase was 1480 mm / 58.3 in long.

Kawasaki KLR 650 New Edition
Kawasaki has launched a special version of its KLR650 dual purpose motorcycle in the United States.
Called the New Edition, it comes with an upgraded suspension set-up that features stiffer springs and firmer rebound damping. Also included is a different seat, which has a unique dimpled cover and is narrower and more tapered at the front to make reaching the ground easier. Compared to the regular KLR650 the only other changes are revised graphics and a wider range of color schemes. In addition to the usual lime green / ebony, New Edition buyers will also be able to choose graystone / ebony or pearl white / ebony paintwork.
