The engine was a Air cooled cooled Four stroke, single cylinder, pushrod, 2 valve. The engine featured a 7.2:1 compression ratio.

Drive[edit | edit source]

Power was moderated via the Wet multiple plate clutch.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 3.00-19 front tire and a 3.25-19 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via 200mm Drum in the front and a 200mm Drum in the rear. The front suspension was a Telescopic hydraulic fork while the rear was equipped with a Swingarm with hydraulic shocks. The 250 Turismo Raid was fitted with a 17 Liters / 4.5 US gal fuel tank. The wheelbase was 1340 mm / 52.7 in long.

The “quarter-litre” category was considered a small displacement abroad, but not in Italy, where a 250cc engine was a large capacity engine. The “Raid” was therefore a pleasant surprise for enthusiasts, however, the level of performance was average and therefore it did not meet great sales success. The name was selected after a survey with MV dealers. A“Raid Extra” with higher quality finish and details was also produced.
