NCR "New Blue" stradale

NCR’s “New Blue,” a modern interpretation of Cycle magazine’s winning 1970s Ducati 750SS Superbike, was a smashing success at Milan 2006 and then at Daytona this year where it was raced by Team Cycle World. Now comes a street-legal version. Based on the SportClassic Sport, it will be powered by a Ducati 1000 DS engine in factory form so as to avoid any problems with certification. Only modification to the engine will be the addition of an NCR exhaust system, duly homologated. As usual, NCR will assemble the bike to perfection using high-tech components, starting with the titanium bolts parent company Poggipolini is celebrated for, and going on with Öhlins racing suspension and carbon-fiber wheels. In this condition, the street version of New Blue should weigh only 359 pounds. Of course, from there the list of special components developed by NCR can only make Ducatisti mouths water, including big-bore kits and all it takes to bump the power up past the 120-hp mark.
