The Suzuki DL1000 V-Strom 1000 SE Touring was a four-stroke, liquid cooled, 90 degree V-twin, DOHC, 8-valves, TSCC Sport touring motorcycle produced by Suzuki between 2009 and 2010.
Engine[edit | edit source]
A 99.1mm bore x 99.1mm stroke result in a displacement of just 996.0 cubic centimeters.
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 6 Speed, manual transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet multi-disc, manual.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 110/80 R19 M/C 59H, tubeless front tire and a 150/70 R17 M/C 69H, tubeless rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual 310mm discs, ABS in the front and a single 260mm disc, ABS in the rear. The front suspension was a Telescopic, cartridge-type, oil damped, adjustable preload, 160mm travel while the rear was equipped with a Link-type, adjustable spring preload and rebound damping, 163mm travel. The wheelbase was 60.39 inches (1534 mm) long.
2009 Suzuki DL1000 V-Strom 1000 SE Touring[edit | edit source]
With almost all the important Suzuki models receiving a Special Edition trim, it was only a matter of time until the V-Strom 1000 joined the fun. The 2009 MY was chosen for the task, and the resulting bike is a full-fledged travel machine, complete with panniers and a top case, an adjustable windscreen and black painted frame and swingarm. No changes have been made on the tech side, so the V-Strom 1000 SE Touring is identical to the base version.
2010 Suzuki DL1000 V-Strom 1000 SE Touring[edit | edit source]
Just like its V-Strom 650 smaller sibling, the liter class Suzuki adventure-touring machine receives a special trim dedicated to those who want solid luggage-carrying capabilities for their bikes right form the crate. The SE Touring retains all the nifty features of the base model, including the bash plate, hand guards, adjustable windscreen and premium seating, and introduces a set of color-matched side cases which expand the functionality and practicality to a new level.
The Touring V-Strom 1000 also comes with a generous top case which can be fitted with an aftermarket pad and serves as a very trick passenger backrest, as well. With all the add-ons easily removable when not needed, the DL1000 V-Strom 1000 SE Touring can return to a sportier attire in just minutes.
