The engine was a Liquid cooled cooled Four stroke, parallel twin, DOHC, 4 valves per cylinder.. The engine featured a 9.7:1 compression ratio.

Power was moderated via the Wet, multi-plate.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120/70 R19 front tire and a 200/50 R17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via 2 x 310 mm Discs, 4 piston calipers in the front and a Single 310 mm disc, 2 piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a Showa 47 mm forks. while the rear was equipped with a Showa chromed spring twin shocks with 5 position adjustable preload.. The Thunderbird S.E. was fitted with a 22 Liters / 5.8 US gal / 4.8 Imp gal fuel tank. The bike weighed just 308 kg / 678 lbs. The wheelbase was 1641 mm / 64.6in long.

Triumph Thunderbird 1600 SE
Triumph has a new version of the
beautiful cruiser Thunderbird. The new "SE" is fitted with a touring package
of accessories that make it even more suitable for long haul trips.
Made in the new, warm tone Metallic 'Carnival Red' and equipped with ABS as standard, comes fully equipped from the factory in Hinckley with the original Triumph, making them convenient and tasty "bagger".
Starting from the base of Thunderbird standards were added to the windscreen 'Roadster Screen' removable, a pair of soft leather saddlebags, 'sissy bar' luggage rack and removable footrests for driver and passenger touring and a saddle seat "to ensure long journeys in comfort.
The Thunderbird was launched in June 2009 and immediately proved one of the most interesting proposals in the segment of custom-cruiser large airspace. The 1,600 cc twin-cylinder engine develops 86 hp at 4850 rpm and a torque of 146 Nm at 2750 rpm. The chassis, characterized by quota "custom" (1615 mm wheelbase and 32 ° caster), is capable of satisfying even when driving at ease, thanks to the quality of the suspension and the generous tires.
