The engine was a Liquid cooled cooled Four stroke, single cylinder, SOHC, 4 valves per cylinder.. The engine featured a 12:1 compression ratio.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120/70 - ZR17 front tire and a 150/60 - ZR17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Single 320mm disc, 4 piston caliper in the front and a Single 220mm, disc 2 piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a Paioli UPSD, 46 mm while the rear was equipped with a Single progressive hydraulic Öhlins shock absorber, low-high speed adjustable preload extension and compression. The SM400 was fitted with a 9 L / 2.4 US gal fuel tank. The bike weighed just 115 kg / 253.5 lbs. The wheelbase was 1485 mm / 58.5" long.
