The engine was a Liquid cooled cooled Four stroke, single cylinder, SOHC. 4 valves per cylinder.. The engine featured a 11.2:1 compression ratio.
Drive[edit | edit source]
Power was moderated via the 8 sintered-plate + 7 metallic-plate in oil bath.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120/70-17 front tire and a 150/60-17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Single 320 mm disc, 4 piston caliper in the front and a Single 220 mm disc, 2 piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a Progressive system upside down fork, Paioli Kayaba 46 mm while the rear was equipped with a Single progressive hydraulic Öhlins shock absorber, low-high speed adjustable preload extension and compression. The SM503 was fitted with a 9 Liters / 2.4 US gal fuel tank. The bike weighed just 115 kg / 254 lbs. The wheelbase was 1485 mm / 58.5" long.
