The engine was a Air-cooled cooled Four stroke, single cylinder, SOHC, 2-valve. The engine featured a 9.5:1 compression ratio.
Drive[edit | edit source]
Power was moderated via the Constant mesh wet multiplate.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 100/80-17 front tire and a 140/60-R17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Single 257mm disc 2 piston caliper in the front and a 130mm Drum in the rear. The front suspension was a 41mm Telescopic Forks while the rear was equipped with a Monocross type. The FZ-S 16 was fitted with a 13 Liters / 3.2 US gal fuel tank. The wheelbase was 1334 mm / 52.5 in long.

Yamaha FZ 16S
Yamaha India has launched its more stylized version of the FZ-16 the Yamaha FZ16-S. Yamaha FZ16-S comes with new colors and graphics, aerodynamic chiseled windshield, stylish and sporty carbon pattern meter console and a more aggressive looking headlight.
