The engine was a Liquid cooled cooled Four-stroke, parallel twin, DOHC, 4-valve per cylinder. The engine featured a 11.0:1 compression ratio.
Drive[edit | edit source]
Power was moderated via the Wet, multiple-disc diaphragm spring.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 110/80R19 front tire and a 150/70/17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via 2x 310mm disc, ABS/Unified Brake System in the front and a Single 282mm disc in the rear. The front suspension was a Upside-down telescopic fork, 43 mm inner tube, adjustable preload, compression and rebound damping while the rear was equipped with a Monoshock, adjustable preload and rebound damping,. The XT1200ZE Super Tènèrè Raid Edition was fitted with a 23 liters / 5.1 US gal fuel tank. The wheelbase was 1540mm / 60.6 in long.

The Raid Edition expands on the standard model with lots of accessories including a pair of 37l aluminum side cases. For increased weather protection theres a high screen and wind deflectors as well as fog lamps for adventures after dark. To complete the look, its also fitted with carbon side panels and a large side plate that protects both the sump and the engine cases. As normal, the shaft-drive Super Ténéré is powered by Yamahas dependable and torquey 1199cc 2-cylinder engine, coupled with electronically adjustable suspension, unified braking and superior digital management know-how together with TCS, Cruise Management and D-MODE.
