Overview[edit | edit source]

Yamaha XT 250 30th Anniversary Special Edition

The Yamaha Serow’s dual-sport motorcycle that was in production between 1986 and 2007. Also known as the XT225 and later as the XT250, the motorcycle was powered by a 223 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, four-stroke engine. It perfected the formula of a small, punchy motorcycle that had a go-anywhere capability. It’s continuous production for 21-years is a standing proof that it’s formula was a success. The original motorcycle had a plain-jane style factor, which doesn’t come as a surprise when considering most of the motorcycles from it’s era. But for Yamaha to bring the motorcycle back to existence almost 30 years later meant that the styling would have to be substantially modernised. Something Yamaha has pulled off quite successfully. The 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Serow still maintains it’s iconic dual-sport stance but is now garnished more tastefully. The motorcycle gets a round headlight neatly integrated within a white cowl at the front, and fancy graphics on top of a dual tone bodywork. For the engine, the Serow sports a 249 cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 18 bhp power and 19 Nm of torque and comes mated to a 5-speed transmission. Yamaha would be manufacturing 2,500 units of the limited edition motorcycle. Source
