Engine[edit | edit source]
A 76.2mm bore x 76.2mm stroke result in a displacement of just 1188.0 cubic centimeters.
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a Gear transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet multi-disc, manual.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120/70 ZR18 front tire and a 170/60 ZR18 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Dual 280mm discs in the front and a Single 280mm disc in the rear. The front suspension was a 42mm Marzocchi telescopic fork while the rear was equipped with a Mono-shock.
1987 Bimota YB5[edit | edit source]
The 1987 MY Bimota YB5 has, at its heart, an air/oil-cooled, four-stroke, 1188cc, transverse four cylinder powerplant mated to a five-speed manual transmission, and can reach a maximum power output of 130 horsepower and 108 Nm of torque.
It also comes standard with features such as a single seat, a full-fairing with windscreen, a single headlamp, cast-aluminum wheels, an analogue instrument cluster, a Brembo braking system with dual discs in the front and a single disc in the rear, plus a suspension package composed of a 42mm Marzocchi upside-down fork and a single Central shock absorber in the rear.
1988 Bimota YB5[edit | edit source]
The 1988 MY Bimota YB5 boasts standard features such as a single seat, a full-fairing with windscreen, a single headlamp, cast-aluminum wheels, an analogue instrument cluster, a Brembo braking system with dual discs in the front and a single disc in the rear, plus a suspension package composed of a 42mm Marzocchi upside-down fork and a single Central shock absorber in the rear.
In the tech/engine department, it sports an air/oil-cooled, four-stroke, 1188cc, transverse four cylinder powerplant paired to a five-speed manual transmission, that produces a claimed 130 horsepower and 108 Nm of torque.
