The front suspension was a  36 mm leading-axle upside-down telescopic fork with 16-way compression damping while the rear was equipped with a Bottom-Link Uni-Trak with adjustable preload, 4-way compression and 20-way rebound damping. The 2005 Kawasaki KX85 I is a small-displacement bike which can be used to teach young riders the secrets of motocross and dirt racing. Thanks to its small profile and narrow construction, the Kawasaki KX85 I is easy to handle, and even to pick up from the track. However, this bike offers exceptional power and has been especially tuned for racing.

Thanks to the 2-stroke engine, the 84cc bike comes with almost 29 PS, but with a 6-speed gearbox, all the power can be delivered in a smooth, predictable manner. Now loaded with more competitive, larger disc brakes, the 2006 Kawasaki KX85 I is even more suitable for aggressive riding. This 84cc 2-stroke single-cylinder motorcycle can be used for both training the young riders or even for racing, as it comes ready straight from the box. 

A new Uni-Trak rear shock sporting a fully-adjustable construction is now in place, allowing for better traction and smoother  power delivery to the rear wheel, and is perfectly complemented by the upside-down adjustable fork.

With a thicker, stronger and lighter radiator, the 2006 Kawasaki KX85 I will run at the right temperature even during long races, enhancing performance and providing an overall better feel of this machine.

The 2007 Kawasaki KX85 I is a very good educational motorcycle, but it can also be used for racing. While its diminutive dimensions and small-displacement engine recommend it for young riders, it packs a lot more punch than meets the eye.

With the new, thicker radiator, the Kawasaki KX85 I provides the optimal temperature even during longer racing sessions, while still being on the lightweight side. Thanks to the adjustable suspensions for both font and rear, setting up the bike for different riders, riding styles or surfaces is now a lot easier, and the traction is kept to a maximum.
