The Yamaha DT50X or (DT50 LC as it was known in other countries) was a single cylinder, two-stroke Trail motorcycle produced by Yamaha between 1981 and 2012. It could reach a top speed of 56 mph (90 km/h). Max torque was 14.01 ft/lbs (19.0 Nm) @ 6500 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 7.57 HP (5.6 KW) @ 7500 RPM.
Engine[edit | edit source]
The engine was a liquid cooled single cylinder, two-stroke. A 40.0mm bore x 39.7mm stroke result in a displacement of just 49.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied by means of either a Mikuni vm18 smoothbore flatslide or a TK carburetor and the exhaust was an expansion chamber type with interchangeable addons
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 6-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the wet multi-plate coil spring.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 2.50-19 front tire and a 130/70-17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single disc in the front and a single disc in the rear. The front suspension was a 35mm telescopic fork while the rear was equipped with a bottom-link. The DT50X was fitted with a 2.54 Gallon (9.60 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 293.21 pounds (133.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 53.74 inches (1365 mm) long.
