This FJ 1200 pulls very hard in every gear. The best and fastest roll-on out there for carburated bikes. This FJ 1200 might be old, but will still bite most all of your late model sport bikes to date, stop light to stop light, and for a 258 Kg (570 lb) motorcycle, it handles like it's on rails. | This FJ 1200 pulls very hard in every gear. The Yamaha FJ1200 ABS was a in-line four, four-stroke Sport touring motorcycle produced by Yamaha between 1986 and 1997. It could reach a top speed of 143 mph (230 km/h). Max torque was 81.14 ft/lbs (110.0 Nm) @ 7500 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 122.3 HP (91.2 KW) @ 8500 RPM.
History[edit | edit source]
The Yamaha FJ1200 was one of Yamaha's first models to receive an ABS option in 1992. There was no export to the US for the 1988 model year.
Engine[edit | edit source]
The engine was a air cooled in-line four, four-stroke. A 76.2mm bore x 76.2mm stroke result in a displacement of just 1188.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 5-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet multi-plate.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120/80 V16 front tire and a 150/80 V16 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual disc in the front and a single disc in the rear. The front suspension was a Telescopic With 3-way Preload And Damping Adjustment while the rear was equipped with a Monocross Monoshock 5-way Preload And 5-way Damping Adjustment. The FJ1200 ABS was fitted with a 5.81 Gallon (22.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 487.22 pounds (221.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 58.9 inches (1496 mm) long.
1989[edit | edit source]

1993 Yamaha FJ 1200[edit | edit source]
This FJ 1200 pulls very hard in every gear. The best and fastest roll-on out there for carburated bikes. This FJ 1200 might be old, but will still bite most all of your late model sport bikes to date, stop light to stop light, and for a 258 Kg (570 lb) motorcycle, it handles like it's on rails.
