The Yamaha IT250 was a is a 175cc, single cylinder, two stroke, reed valve, motocross motorcycle manufactured by Yamaha between 1978 and 1982. It could reach a top speed of 68 mph (110 km/h). Max torque was 10.33 ft/lbs (14.0 Nm) @ 5500 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 10.06 HP (7.5 KW) @ 5500 RPM.
Engine
The engine was a air cooled single cylinder, two-stroke. A 71.1mm bore x 71.1mm stroke result in a displacement of just 247.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a membrane.
Frame
It has a six speed gearbox, suspension is 32mm front forks, with monoshock and aluminium swingarm at the rear. The IT was made for enduro use, although it was used with success for trail riding and motocross.
Drive
The bike has a 6-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the wet plate.
Chassis
It came with a -21 front tire and a -18 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via expanding brake (drum brake). cable in the front and a expanding brake (drum brake). mechanical link in the rear. The front suspension was a conventional forks while the rear was equipped with a mono-x triangular swingarm. The IT250 was fitted with a 3.2 Gallon (12.11 Liters) fuel tank.
