Overview[edit | edit source]

KTM RC8R 1190 Red Bull Limited Edition

KTM is continuing to expand its 2010 model line-up by adding upon its 1190 RC8 offering. Announced at the 2010 EICMA, KTM has unveiled a limited production 1190 RC8 R Red Bull superbike replica, which is Based off the Red Bull livery that Stefan Nebel wore in the German Superbike Championship (IDM). The Red Bull rep will be similar to the KTM’s recent Akrapovic/McWilliams Limited Edition RC8 replica. As such, the bike takes your standard RC8 R, adds some painted fairings, and offers a non-homologated race kit that boosts the final power figure to 180hp. These KTM 1195cc, 75 º V-twin, 170hp ‘R' model machines include a host of engine upgrades to fulfill the fantasy of most all track day riders. The engineers started with super light pistons and increased the compression ratio, reworked the combustion chamber, and added adjustable camshafts. Its chassis features a revised geometry, race spec suspension and adjustable pegs, shifter, sub frame and ride height.

Both 2010 KTM 1190 RC8 models come with a limited edition number plate, special edition body work, and an optional closed course race kit which includes an Akrapovic titanium exhaust system, thinner head gaskets, improved air filter and a tool for adjusting the camshafts for race specifications. In addition, the two limited edition models have the KTM ‘R' model upgrades including an orange powder-coated frame, carbon front fender and more.

Now 100 x chances for original racing performance!

RC8 R Red Bull Edition » Only 100 available! » Clubrace kit including Akrapovic Evo4 for 180 hp (132 kW)!

1190 RC8 R RED BULL RACE REPLICA - LC8 two-cylinder, enlarged oil cooler, optimized gears, displacement: 1195 cc, power: 170 HP (125 kW) - 180 HP (132.4 kW) power output with optional club race kit - 7.5 kg lightweight steel trellis frame with modified chassis geometry: caster raised by 6 mm, wheel base shortened - WP suspension 43 millimetre upsidedown fork, TiAlNi-coated - WP shock absorber, TiAlNi-coated piston rod - Forged Marchesini light alloy wheels with a multi-spoke design - Radially-mounted Brembo four-piston monoblock brake callipers with reinforced 320 millimetre brake discs

KTM first entered the IDM superbike class with its long-term partner Red Bull in´2009 – and had a great first season! After eight events and sixteen races Stefan Nebel had finished in the points fifteen times, achieved four podium positions and collected 184 points to become runner up in the IDM championship. The RC8 R riders Didier van Keymeulen, Kai-Borre Andersen and Jeremy McWilliams also achieved great results. A good enough reason for KTM to develop the refined 1190 RC8 R Red Bull Edition – in the style of the IDM bikes with the high-tech qualities expected of an RC8 R. The dynamic two-cylinder generates a power output of no less than 170 HP in the road-homologated version, which can be further increased by another 10 HP with the club race kit. The adjustable vehicle and seat geometry, premium-quality, fully adjustable WP chassis components, forged Marchesini light alloy wheels, Brembo highperformance brakes, milled triple clamps and carbon mudguard make one thing clear: the 1190 RC8 R Red Bull Edition is purely 'Ready to Race'.
