The bike has a Automatic PVT H/L/N/R/P transmission. Power was moderated via the Automatic.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 26 x 8R14; Terrathon front tire and a 26 x 10R14; Terrathon rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Single Lever 4-Wheel Hydraulic Disc in the front and a Hydraulic Rear Foot Brake in the rear. The front suspension was a Short Long Arm (SLA) 9 in. / 22.9 cm travel while the rear was equipped with a Short Long Arm (SLA) 10.25 in. / 26.0 cm travel. The wheelbase was 52.99 inches (1346 mm) long.
2009 Polaris Sportsman XP 550 EFI[edit | edit source]
XP 850 EFI's smaller brother, the 2008 Polaris Sportsman XP 550 EFI is just as nimble, though it was designed for those in search of a middleweight-displacement machine. It retains all the great features which have made people love the big Sportsman quads along the years, while providing enhanced ergonomics and extended versatility for both work and play.
Huge racking and towing capabilities also help finishing the outdoor tasks faster and easier, while the on-demand AWD, engine braking and active control descent systems are standard for safer tackling the steep gradients and obstacles. With a top-notch suspension and generous clearance, this quad can venture on slippery and uneven terrain empty or loaded, and will not let you down.
