The engine was a Liquid-cooled cooled Four stroke, transverse three cylinder. DOHC, 4 valves per cylinder. The engine featured a 12.0:1 compression ratio.

Power was moderated via the Wet, multi-plate.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120/70 ZR17 front tire and a 190/50 ZR17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via 2 x 320 mm Discs, 4 piston calipers in the front and a Single 220 mm disc, 2 piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a 45 mm Upside down forks with dual rate springs and adjustable preload, compression and rebound damping while the rear was equipped with a Monoshock with adjustable preload, compression and rebound damping. The Speed Triple Matt Black Limited Edition was fitted with a 18 Liters / 4.89 gal fuel tank. The bike weighed just 189 kg / 416.7 lbs. The wheelbase was 1429 mm / 56.3 in long.
