The Suzuki SV 1000S was a Liquid Cooled, Four Stroke, 90 Degrees V-twin, DOHC, 4 Valves Per Cylinder Sport touring motorcycle produced by Suzuki in 2008. Max torque was 75.24 ft/lbs (102.0 Nm) @ 7000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 116.0 HP (86.5 KW) @ 8500 RPM.
Engine
A 97.8mm bore x 97.8mm stroke result in a displacement of just 996.0 cubic centimeters.
Drive
The bike has a 6-Speed transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet multi-discs.
Chassis
It came with a 120/70-17 front tire and a 180/55-17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Dual Hydraulic Disc in the front and a Single Hydraulic Disc in the rear. The front suspension was a Telescopic Fork while the rear was equipped with a Link-type, 7-way Preload, Compression And Rebound Damping Adjustable. The wheelbase was 56.5 inches (1435 mm) long.
2008 Suzuki SV 1000S
The 996 cc liquid-cooled 90-degree V-twin sports the same bore and stroke of 98mm x 66mm, but that's about it. The DOHC four-valve cylinder heads feature smaller 36mm intake valves, single instead of dual valve springs, slightly reshaped intake ports for better velocity at lower rpm, and retimed intake cams for more overlap.
