Engine[edit | edit source]
The engine was a liquid cooled Liquid Cooled, Four Stroke, Transverse Four Cylinder, DOHC, 4 Valves Per Cylinder. A 48.3mm bore x 48.3mm stroke result in a displacement of just 248.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (DOHC).
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 6-Speed transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet multi-plate.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 100/80-17 front tire and a 130/70-17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Double discs 300 mm in the front and a Single disc 240 mm in the rear. The front suspension was a Telescopic Fork while the rear was equipped with a Full Floater. The bike weighed just 304.24 pounds (138.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 53.9 inches (1369 mm) long.
1987 - 1989 Suzuki GSX-R 250[edit | edit source]
The GSX-R250 was born in 1987. The machine had a box-frame, full fairing, four-cylinder four-stroke, liquid cooled engine. In 1988 the GXR-R250 got new graphics, but mechanically it remained unchanged.
1991 Suzuki GSX-R 250[edit | edit source]
In 1990 the GXR-R 250 got new graphics put mechanically it remained unchanged. GSX-R250R, a super-sports model, was released. The GSX-R250 had a box-frame (steel, not aluminum), full fairing, full-floater rear swing and a four-cylinder four-stroke engine.
