The Honda GL500 Silver Wing was a v2, four-stroke Touring motorcycle produced by Honda between 1977 and 1983. It could reach a top speed of 95 mph (153 km/h). Max torque was 30.24 ft/lbs (41.0 Nm) @ 7000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 48.95 HP (36.5 KW) @ 9000 RPM.
Engine[edit | edit source]
The engine was a liquid cooled v2, four-stroke. A 78.0mm bore x 52.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 497.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a overhead valves (ohv).
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 5-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet Multi-Plate.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 3.50-19 front tire and a 130/90-16 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual disc in the front and a expanding brake in the rear. The front suspension was a Telescopic coil spring air assisted while the rear was equipped with a Swing arm compound linkage to single shock. The GL500 Silver Wing was fitted with a 5.28 Gallon (20.00 Liters) fuel tank.

The GL 500 Silver Wing touring motorcycle belonging to Honda was kept in production for only five years, between 1977 and 1982.
