The Ducati 899 Panigale was a Superquadro L-Twin, 4 Desmodromically actuated valves per cylinder, liquid cooled Sport Bike motorcycle produced by Ducati between 2014 and 2015. Max torque was 73.02 ft/lbs (99.0 Nm) @ 9000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 148.05 HP (110.4 KW) @ 10750 RPM.
Engine
The engine was a liquid cooled Superquadro L-Twin, 4 Desmodromically actuated valves per cylinder, liquid cooled. A 99.1mm bore x 99.1mm stroke result in a displacement of just 898.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a desmodromic valve control.
Drive
The bike has a straight cut gears transmission. Power was moderated via the wet multiplate clutch with hydraulic control.
Chassis
It came with a 120/70 ZR17 front tire and a 180/60 ZR17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via 2 x 320mm semi-floating discs, radially mounted Brembo Monobloc M4.32 4-piston callipers, ABS in the front and a 245mm disc, 2-piston calliper, ABS in the rear. The front suspension was a fully adjustable BPF forks. 43 mm chromed inner tubes while the rear was equipped with a fully adjustable unit. The 899 Panigale was fitted with a 4.49 Gallon (17.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 372.58 pounds (169.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 56.1 inches (1425 mm) long.
2014 Ducati 899 Panigale
The 2014 MY Ducati 899 Panigale, in its first year of production, was designed by the House of Bologna to suit both the needs of novice riders in the superbike world, as well as more experienced ones, who wanted a more road-friendly machine more suited for everyday use. At its heart lies a liquid-cooled, 898cc, Superquadro L-twin cylinder powerhouse that can produce an awe-inspiring 148 horsepower and 99 Nm of torque. This two-wheeler comes as standard with all the technologies developed by the Italian engineers up to date, such as the Ducati Quick Shift (DQS), and fully integrated Riding Mode technologies which include ride-by-wire, a triple stage ABS, Ducati Traction Control (DTC), and an Engine Brake Control (EBC).
As all the machines from the Panigale family, it has the unmistakable Italian design, with well-drawn lines that flow continuously from front to rear, and is available for purchase with a choice between a traditional Ducati red with black wheels or a stunning arctic white silk with red wheels.
