A commercial photographer who, in 1938, was ordered by Walter Davidson to take pictures of a dismantled Crocker V-twin. Harley-Davidson was suspicious that the Crocker which could outrun both Harleys and Indians at the time, was copying Harley-Davidson parts without permission. Austin's pictures showed nothing untoward.
