The Bimota DB7 Oro Nero was a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 90-degree V-Twin, SOHC, desmodromic 4 valves per cylinder Sport Bike motorcycle produced by Bimota between 2009 and 2013. Max torque was 90.72 ft/lbs (123.0 Nm) @ 8000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 159.98 HP (119.3 KW) @ 9750 RPM. It could reach a top speed of 260 km/h / 161.6 mph.
Engine[edit | edit source]
A 104.1mm bore x 104.1mm stroke result in a displacement of just 1099.0 cubic centimeters.
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 6-speed, manual transmission. Power was moderated via the wet multi-disc, manual.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120/70 ZR17 front tire and a 190/55 ZR17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual 320mm discs, 4-piston calipers in the front and a single 230mm disc, 2-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a 43mm Marzocchi fully-adjustable upside-down fork while the rear was equipped with a Extreme Tech TTX fully-adjustable mono-shock. The wheelbase was 56.5 inches (1435 mm) long.
2009 Bimota DB7 Oro Nero[edit | edit source]
The 2010 MY Bimota DB7 Oro Nero is a lighter version of the base DB7, that also boasts a Matte Black finish, and is sure to fit the taste of the younger among Bimota fans. The Italian engineers have equipped it with carbon fiver parts, such as the front section of the frame, the central section of the swingarm and all the bodywork parts, which lead to a dry weight of 164kg(361lbs), 8 kg lighter than the base model.
In all other departments, it has the same parts, technologies and features found on the base DB7.
2012 Bimota DB7 Oro Nero[edit | edit source]
The 2012 MY Bimota DB7 Oro Nero has, at its heart, a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 1099cc, 90-degree V-Twin powerplant mated to a six-speed manual transmission that can produce a claimed 160 horsepower and 123 Nm of torque.
This blacked-out machine boasts superior maneuverability thanks to the carbon-fiber parts that can be found throughout its frame, swingarm and body work, which reduce its dry weight with 8kg, as compared to the base DB7.
2013 Bimota DB7 Oro Nero[edit | edit source]
The 2013 MY Bimota DB7 Oro Nero has been created by the Italian engineers for those riders who want a dark and aggressive look on their machine. It comes with lots of carbon fiber parts, from sections of the frame to the swingarm and all its bodywork, which helps it tip the scale at just 164kg (362lbs).
In the tech/engine department it sports a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, fuel-injected, 1099cc, 90-degree V-Twin powerhouse paired to a six-speed manual transmission, and can reach a maximum power output of 160 horsepower and 123 Nm of torque.
Overview[edit | edit source]
Bimota DB7 Oro Nero is based around the same basic design as the standard Bimota DB7, but is eight kilograms lighter thank to the front section of the frame, the central section of the swingarm and all of the bodywork being made from carbon fibre. Claimed dry weight is 164kg, compared to 172kg for the standard model The Bimota DB7 Oro Nero uses the same 1099cc v-twin sourced from Ducatis 1098, but a more free-flowing exhaust gives an extra 2bhp compared to the DB7, taking power to a claimed 164bhp, giving one horsepower per kilo power to weight ratio.
