The Bimota YB8 was a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, transverse four cylinder, DOHC, 5 valves per cylinder Sport Bike motorcycle produced by Bimota between 1990 and 1992. Max torque was 86.3 ft/lbs (117.0 Nm) @ 9250 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 148.99 HP (111.1 KW) @ 10500 RPM.
Engine[edit | edit source]
A 76.2mm bore x 76.2mm stroke result in a displacement of just 1002.0 cubic centimeters.
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 5-speed, manual transmission. Power was moderated via the wet multi-disc, manual.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120/70-17 front tire and a 180/55-17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual 320mm discs, 4-piston calipers in the front and a single 230mm disc, 1-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a 42mm Marzocchi telescopic fork while the rear was equipped with a Marzocchi adjustable mono-shock.
1990 Bimota YB8[edit | edit source]
The 1990 MY Bimota YB8 has, at its heart, a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 1002cc, transverse four cylinder powerhouse mated to a five-speed manual transmission, and can produce a claimed 149 horsepower and 117 Nm of torque.
It also comes standard with features such as a 42mm Marzocchi telescopic front fork, a Marzocchi mono-shock in the rear, adjustable for compression and rebound damping, a Brembo braking system with dual front discs and a single disc in the rear, an analogue instrument cluster, a full-fairing with a large windscreen, a single seat and cast-aluminum wheels.
1991 Bimota YB8[edit | edit source]
The 1991 MY Bimota YB8 comes with a 42mm Marzocchi telescopic front fork, a Marzocchi mono-shock in the rear, adjustable for compression and rebound damping, a Brembo braking system with dual front discs and a single disc in the rear, an analogue instrument cluster, a full-fairing with a large windscreen, a single seat and cast-aluminum wheels.
In the tech/engine department, it sports a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 1002cc, transverse four cylinder powerplant mated to a five-speed manual transmission, that can reach a maximum power output of 149 horsepower and 117 Nm of torque.
1992 Bimota YB8[edit | edit source]
The 1992 MY Bimota YB8 is a powerful, liter-class sport-bike that is sure to feel at home both on city streets, as well as the race track, thanks to its engine, borrowed from the Yamaha FZR1000 EXUP, a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 1002cc, transverse four cylinder unit that produces 149 horsepower and 117 Nm of torque.
It also comes with race-derived features such as a 42mm Marzocchi telescopic front fork, a Marzocchi mono-shock in the rear, adjustable for compression and rebound damping, a Brembo braking system with dual front discs and a single disc in the rear, an analogue instrument cluster, a full-fairing with a large windscreen, a single seat and cast-aluminum wheels.
