The Ducati 1098S Tri-Colore was a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 90-degree V-Twin, DOHC, desmodromic 4 valves per cylinder Sport Bike motorcycle produced by Ducati in 2007. Max torque was 89.99 ft/lbs (122.0 Nm) @ 8000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 159.98 HP (119.3 KW) @ 9750 RPM.

A 104.1mm bore x 104.1mm stroke result in a displacement of just 1099.0 cubic centimeters.

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a straight cut gears transmission. Power was moderated via the dry, multiplate, hydraulic.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 120/70 ZR17 front tire and a 190/55 ZR17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual 330mm discs, 4-piston calipers in the front and a single 245mm disc, 2-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a 43mm Ohlins fully-adjustable upside-down fork, TiN-coated while the rear was equipped with a Ohlins TTXR fully-adjustable monoshock with progressive linkage. The wheelbase was 56.3 inches (1430 mm) long.

The 2007 MY Ducati 1098S Tri-Colore is a limited edition machine that features a special livery, in the colors of the Italian flag, and a gold finish on its steel trellis frame and cast-aluminum wheels. In all other departments, it has the same features as the base 1098S. In the engine department, it sports a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 1099cc, 90-degree V-Twin desmodromic powerhouse paired to a six-speed manual transmission with a chain final drive and a dry clutch, and can produce a claimed 160 horsepower and 122 Nm of torque.
