The Ducati 800SS was a air-cooled, four-stroke, 90-degree V-Twin, SOHC, desmodromic 2 valves per cylinder Sport Bike motorcycle produced by Ducati in 2003. Max torque was 52.37 ft/lbs (71.0 Nm) @ 6250 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 74.96 HP (55.9 KW) @ 8250 RPM.
Engine[edit | edit source]
A 88.9mm bore x 88.9mm stroke result in a displacement of just 803.0 cubic centimeters.
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 6-speed, manual transmission.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120/70 ZR17 front tire and a 170/60 ZR17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual 320mm discs, 4-piston calipers in the front and a single 245mm disc, 2-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a 43mm Showa fully-adjustable upside-down fork while the rear was equipped with a Sachs fully-adjustable monoshock with progressive cantilever linkage.
2003 Ducati 800SS[edit | edit source]
This middle-class sportbike addresses riders who want a compromise between raw power and agility. It sports a four-stroke, air-cooled, 803cc, 90-degree V-Twin powerplant mated to a six-speed manual transmission, and can reach a maximum power output of 75 horsepower and 70 Nm of torque.
Standard fittings for this machine include a dual seat, a passenger grab handle, cast-aluminum wheels, Brembo brakes both in the front and in the rear, a digital instrument cluster, and a Showa suspension package composed of a 43mm fully-adjustable upside-down fork in the front and an adjustable monoshock in the rear with a progressive cantilever linkage.
