2002 Ducati 996R[edit | edit source]
The R suffixed-version of the 996 is, arguably, one of the most powerful machines in its class, boasting a maximum power output of 135 horsepower and 105 Nm of torque from its liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 996cc, 90-degree desmodromic V-Twin, that was paired to a six-speed manual transmission with a chain final drive.
Also, it comes with features such as Marchessini light-alloy wheels, dual headlights, a full-fairing with a small windscreen, a two-piece, dual seat, an under-seat dual exhaust system, a digital instrumentation display, Brembo brakes with dual front discs and a single disc in the rear, a Showa fully-adjustable upside down front fork with TiN-coating, and an Ohlins adjustable monoshock with progressive cantilever linkage as a rear suspension.
This machine has also been limited to 500 units, but is available for purchase all across the globe.
