Special-edition Harley-Davidsons built in 1985 to honor the Statue of Liberty’s centenary. For each of the 1,750 Liberty Edition bikes sold (there were three versions). Harley-Davidson donated $100 to the Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island Foundation Inc. The company also organized a 'Ride for Liberty', in which Vaughn Beals started from the West Coast and Willie G. Davidson took a southern route. They met in Washington and led thousands of riders to Liberty State Park, NJ, where Beals presented the foundation with a cheque for $250,000.
